Crunchy Carnival sweets that crack while frying, hence the name ("scroccare" means to crack).

Ingredients

- 300 g flour
- 2 eggs
- 50 g sugar
- 1 tbsp anise liqueur
- Lemon zest
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar

Preparation

Make a firm dough and form into balls. Boil briefly, then fry until golden and cracked. Drain and dust with powdered sugar.
